Cold waves continue. The polar vortex sends its cold winds to America and Europe, producing severe storms and tornadoes.
Arab Weather - Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Center said that numerical computer modeling readings indicate that several parts of Europe and America will be affected by severe weather disturbances, some of which will bring severe cold and heavy snow, while others will bring heavy rains that cause flooding. This is due to a change in the shape of weather systems in the Northern Hemisphere.
Severe cold waves accompanied by snow and negative temperatures will affect northwestern Europe and North America in the coming days.
Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that as a result of the formation of a strong high pressure system above the Arctic Circle, a break in the polar jet stream occurs, causing the dispersal of polar air masses. Polar air masses will be concentrated over northern and western Europe in the coming period, in addition to northern and eastern North America. These countries will be exposed to extremely cold polar waves and heavy snow, especially in North America and Canada.
As the extremely cold upper wave from the north passes, warm and extremely humid air from the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico merges with cold winds in South America, creating severe thunderstorms. These are believed to be supercells, which are associated with severe weather phenomena. These supercells are accompanied by heavy rainfall, strong thunderstorms, and large, dense hail. The exceptional weather conditions are expected to affect several states, particularly Texas, Oklahoma, and the surrounding states bordering the Gulf of Mexico.
Rainstorm affects Portugal and France (heavy rain, strong winds and snow).
In this context, the latest satellite images and remote sensing systems at the Arab Weather Regional Center are monitoring the development of a rainstorm over the waters of the northeastern Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Portugal, with atmospheric pressure values as low as 995 millibars. This is causing strong winds with gusts reaching 100 km/h, with dense bands of thick cumulus clouds laden with large amounts of rain surrounding the storm's center.
The storm will strongly affect Portugal and Spain this evening and throughout the day, Saturday, as large amounts of cumulus clouds will rush in and unstable weather conditions will prevail. This will cause heavy to very heavy rains, characterized by their continuous nature, and sometimes accompanied by strong thunderstorms in several regions, including the capital, Madrid, with heavy falling of hailstones of various sizes, sometimes large, and heavy snowfall on the high mountainous areas.
And God knows best.
